The Chini Ya Mbúyú podcast is a Feminist movement-building platform created by young women, whose mission is not only to advance Feminist principles in all areas of leadership but also advance narratives that allow young women and girls across the continent to rise to leadership positions and occupy space. A podcast, that tells stories of women, who have come before us, women amongst us and women whose potential cannot be silenced. A force that cannot be muted, a revolution that will be marked in the halls of a Feminist future.

The stigma surrounding periods continues to burden girls and women. From being made to conceal menstrual products when they buy them, all wrapped with opaque covers, to whispers in stores stating that only women can attend to such matters. And yet, many still lack access to these products and information on menstrual hygiene.
In light of this year’s #MenstrualHygieneDay🩸, we kick off #ChiniYaMbuyu Season 8 by tackling period poverty, society's contribution to this cause, and possible actions to eliminate period poverty and social stigma.
